Description
Road Runner and Coyote Desert Color Key/Concept Paintings by Maurice Noble Group of 9 (Warner Brothers, c. 1950's). This lot represents a treasure trove of original color key/concept paintings by venerated layout artist and color stylist, Maurice Noble (1911 - 2001). Offered here is a group of nine exquisitely detailed paintings of desert scenes created for one of Chuck Jones' Road Runner and Coyote cartoons. Each is a mini masterpiece in gouache on paper. Eight of them measure 4" x 3" and one is 8" x 3". The style and color treatment is in the unmistakably style of Noble. Road Runner and Coyote cartoons are an important part of the Warner Brothers' cartoon canon and Maurice Noble's whimsically abstract desert scenes are a big part of their lasting appeal. Minor handling an wear throughout. Glue residue on back of all. Condition is Very Good.Auction Info
