Description

Castle in the Sky Pazu and Dola Animation Drawing (Studio Ghibli, 1986). "Sheeta's been captured. I'm gonna save her. When I cut your ropes, make a run for it. Good luck now, Captain." "Wait a minute, boy. Better take this." Captain Dola gives Pazu her firearm after he covertly frees her from capture in this excellent original animation drawing from Hayao Miyazaki's Castle in the Sky, the first official film of the lauded Studio Ghibli. A landmark title in the steampunk fantasy genre, Castle in the Sky was the inspiration for several titles including Hideaki Anno's Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water with Studio Gainax. Created for the moment seen at the 1:40:40 mark of the film, this expressive piece is rendered in graphite and color pencil on 13.75" x 9" animation paper with a large image size of 8.5" x 8". The drawing shows minor handling and edge wear, and the condition is Very Good.
