Peanuts It was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown 11 Character Production Cel Setup with 35" x 8.5" Pan Master Background (Bill Melendez, 1969). School is out for the summer and the Peanuts gang are off to summer camp thanks to Lucy. This was the sixth prime-time animated television special based on Charles Schulz' popular comic It was directed by Bill Melendez and originally aired on CBS on September 27, 1969. In this lot is an original hand-inked hand-painted production cel setup of Charlie in the center of the pack surrounded by 10 fellow campers including Linus, Roy, Schroeder, Pig Pen, Shermy, Patty, Violet, Lucy, and Peppermint Patty. All characters are in full-figure and average approximately 2.75" tall on a 12 Field multi-cel setup presented over a gouache hand-painted pan Master production background with overlay cel. The character cels and background appear in different scenes but work flawlessly together. It's a truly unbelievable one-of-a-kind setup which includes several hard-to-find characters from this memorable animated TV special that first aired over 55 years ago. An 11-character pan Master setup like this is quite literally a Peanuts collection all by itself, and this one comes complete with a Certificate of Authenticity. The art is in a 44" x 17" frame under glass with a mat window of 35" x 8.5". Minor handling and condition is Very Good. All frames are sold as-is.
