All Star Comics #5 (DC, 1941) CGC FR/GD 1.5 Off-white pages. What a Golden-Age gem! This was the first appearance of Shiera Sanders as Hawkgirl -- the very first costumed super-heroine, a version of whom appears in the recent Superman movie. The issue contains a Johnny Thunder text story, and a full-page ad for All Flash #1, while the Howard Purcell cover features the Flash, the Spectre, and Green Lantern. Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Hour-Man, Sandman, the Atom, and Johnny Thunder also make appearances in the issue. Irwin Hasen, Sheldon Moldoff, and Bernard Baily art. Overstreet 2024 GD 2.0 value = $703.
