Description

Art Spiegelman - Painting Preliminary Artwork Original Art (c. 1972-73). This rough prelim was created in a series of color markers, which is a technique that Spiegelman has used on many other projects we have seen. The build up of color layers allows him to make changes in body positions and proportions with each subsequent layer. The image of a man lacing up a corset for this bare-breasted woman measures 11" tall on the 12" x 15.5" onionskin paper. It has been folded before, and is in Very Good condition.. From the Eric Sack Collection.
