Description

Sick Magazine Story Page 2 Original Art (Crestwood Publ., Year). A self-contained sequence from a story called "Great Battle Speeches" lampoons Gen. James Doolittle's speech to the troops on the cusp of the Doolittle Raid (1942). The retaliatory strike on Japan (four months after the attack on Pearl Harbor) is re-imagined as a Hollywood epic. The unbilled artist caricatures Doolittle in Panel 3. Ink and chemical shading over graphite on DuoTone page-stock. Image area, 14" x 19". Moderate toning in the art, with marginal handling wear. The typeset text sections are heavily stained, but intact. Very Good condition.
