Description

Jack Sparling Joe Palooka Comics #72 Complete 7-Page Story Original Art (Harvey Comics, 1952). Sparling channels the attitude of Bill Mauldin, the great combat cartoonist of WWII, in this high-energy buddy-soldier tale from the Korean Conflict. Marginal notes state that the story was scheduled for Harvey's Warfront, but the yarn saw print in Joe Palooka, a monthly title also known during this period as Joe Palooka's Battle Adventures. Missing from the first page is a stat paste-up of Joe Palooka, who introduces the story. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 12.25" x 18.25". Very Good condition.
