Description
Virgil Ross - Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd Drawing (Warner Brothers, c. 1990s). "Hey! Look out! Stop! You're gonna hurt someone with that old shot-gun!" go the lyrics to Bugs Bunny's signature song, "What's Up Doc." That really sums up the scene in this original drawing of Elmer and Bugs, in another one of their "Rabbit Season" situations. The art is by longtime Warner Brothers staff artist Virgil Ross (1907 - 1996), who was well-known throughout the animation industry for his ability on action and dance sequences, and funny facial expressions. Several of the cartoons he worked on were nominated for Academy Awards, and Mr. Ross himself was given major awards, including the prestigious Winsor McCay Award in 1988. He spent time at several other studios, most notably Hanna-Barbera and Filmation. Original drawings like this were offered at personal appearances by Mr. Ross as he promoted his line of Limited Edition cels at Warner Brothers stores and licensed galleries. This classic posed-piece is matted with an opening of 12" x 9", and framed with glass for an overall size of 16.75" x 14". Frame is sold as-is. Art condition is Fine.More information about Virgil Ross. See also: Ross, Virgil Artist.
