Description

MAD #364 Verified Signatures Jerry Seinfeld and Mort Drucker Group of 2 (EC, 1997). Issue #364 featured a parody of Seinfeld at the height of the show's immense popularity. One of the show's pet catchphrases "Helloooo NEUMAN!" is captured by legendary artist Mort Drucker on this cover, with the show's character (played by Wayne Knight) replaced by that other Neuman, Alfred E! It's classic MAD and classic Drucker, the most prolific of all the MAD cover artists. While you can find copies of this relatively common issue, finding copies signed by both Drucker and Jerry Seinfeld can be much more difficult! Here are CBCS-certified copies with the verified signatures of each! The Seinfeld-signed copy is part of an inscription ("To Nick...") from the comedian to the renowned MAD editor, writer, and artist Nick Meglin, who owned the copy until his death in 2018. Both copies are Newsstand Editions. The Mort Drucker-signed copy is a stellar CBCS VF/NM 9.0 with white pages; the Jerry Seinfeld-signed copy is a CBCS GD/VG 3.0 with white pages. The latter presents much better from the front, but has two tape pulls on the back cover, apparently from having been displayed. A must for MAD and Seinfeld fans alike! Approximate Overstreet value for group =$5.
From the Personal MAD Collection of David Lubin, MD.
