Description

Ben and Me Amos Production Drawing (Walt Disney, 1953).
Ben and Me opens with two tour groups simultaneously visiting a statue of Benjamin Franklin. The human tour group discusses Franklin's life and achievements, while the leader of a mouse tour group reveals the contributions of a mouse, Amos, to Franklin's career. In this Academy Award nominated short, Amos befriends founding father Ben Franklin and eventually aids in Franklin's publishing, inventing, and political career. This beautifully rendered 5" tall production drawing of Amos can be seen around the 16:17 mark. The piece was hand-drawn in graphite with red and green pencil on 12 field 3-peghole paper with the number 22 in the lower right corner. The great Sterling Holloway provided both the voice of Amos and narration for this two-reel short. Minor handling wear and edge wear. In Very Good condition.
