Description

The Funny Company Production Cels and Drawings Group Lot (Funny Company/Ken Snyder Productions, 1963). "We have a company that you can join for free, and kids in every neighborhood belong." So went the theme song of this unusual syndicated series, sponsored by Mattel. Each segment began as a cartoon (about a club of kids, with names like Buzzer Bell, Polly Plum, and all the kid's favorite, Shrinkin' Violette), but included a two-minute live-action educational film. The club had an unusual mascot, Terry Dactyl, a small green dinosaur who had been frozen, and now wears a baseball cap; main adversary was Belly Laguna (a play on Bela Lugosi, whom the character was loosely modeled after). Here's a large stack of original hand-inked, hand-painted 12 field production cels, most featuring Terry and Belly. These are quite rare, the first animation art from this series (which can be seen on some Roku cartoon channels) we've seen offered. Producers Ken Snyder and Charles Koren went on to create Roger Ramjet. Overall condition is Very Good.
