Gaar Williams Among the Folks in History Single-Panel Comic Strip Original Art dated 6-15-30 (Chicago Tribune Syndicate, 1935). Williams assumes a fly-on-the-wall angle to observe the festive absurdity of a for-men-only clubroom. Any cartoon that can muster nostalgia and ridicule simultaneously and in equal measure is okay in our book. The facial expressions are varied and memorable, especially the guy (upper right) who obviously is in attendance without his wife's permission. Ink over graphite on Bristol board.
