Mel Keefer Mac Divot Daily Comic Strip Original Art dated 10-21-55 (Chicago Tribune, 1955). Sports Manga had long been a trend in Japan by 1955, but there were still relatively few sports related U.S. comic strips. Fewer still that were about Golf... in fact, this is the only one we know of! Sandy Mac Divot starred in the strip from 1955 until 1977, so this is from his first year. Keefer would go on to be an animator on both Johnny Quest and He-Man. This strip is ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 19" x 6.25". Slight tanning, handling, and some slight warping, but overall in Very Good condition. Fore!Auction Info
