Description

Bernie Wrightson signed original published title page illustration for Tales from The House of Mystery. (1972/1973) Accomplished in pencil, pen and ink on 11.5 x 17.75 in. comic art stock. Marked title page, to the House of Mystery paperback, verso stated copyright 1972/73. A very finely rendered drawing of "Cain", the host of the DC horror series, along with an ungodly cast of misfits and misbegotten characters, all done in the deliciously rich Wrightson fine line style. Also featuring a particularly nice example of Wrightson's period calligraphy reading, "Tales from the House of Mystery." Exhibiting pinholes to upper right borders, toning and soiling to edges, and pen notation not affecting art. In fine condition.
