Description

Nick Cardy Tarzan Daily Comic Strip #3278 Original Art (United Feature Syndicate, 1950). Cardy makes with the censor-bait during his brief (and superb) run on Tarzan. This erotically charged, menacing sequence cuts as close to a seduction scene as the comics-syndicate tastemakers of the day would allow. Seldom has a promising come-on looked simultaneously so menacing. Tarzan appears interested, but wary. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 18.5" x 5". Aside from glue stains in the captions and the upper margin, the art is in Very Good condition.
