Description

Disneyland - Aunt Jemima Pancake House Placemat Group of 12, Napkin, and Ad Sheet (Walt Disney, c. 1956-1971). The Aunt Jemima Pancake House opened with Disneyland in 1955, and it served guests visiting the park until 1971 in the area that is now the River Belle Terrace. This group includes several rare pieces from that early Disneyland restaurant. First, we have a c. 1956 ad for the restaurant that announces the Aunt Jemima Buttermilk Pancake Mix as well as advertising the Disneyland restaurant. This sheet measures about 8" x 11", and it also has an ad for another vintage product on its reverse. Next, we have a whopping twelve souvenir placemats from Aunt Jemima's Kitchen, a style of placemat produced from the early 1960s until 1971. These scalloped-edge paper placemats measure about 14" x 9.75" each. Finally, we have a napkin from the restaurant, likely from about the same time period as the placemats. The napkin measure about 6.5" x 6.5" folded. All items are in overall Good to Very Good condition. The ad has some toning and minor wear from age. The placemats and napkins have some toning and wear as well, with minor scuffing and staining, and the napkin has an extra fold line.
From the Rummell Collection.
