Mickey Mouse Vintage Ferris Wheel Toy (Walt Disney/J. Chein, c. 1950s). A great example of a vintage Disney toy - intact and still working! This is a highly prized Disney Ferris Wheel made in the 1950s by J. Chein & Company of New York City. With the launch of the Mickey Mouse Club in 1930 at the Fox Dome Theater in Ocean Park, CA, Mickey entered the spotlight as his visage was stamped onto everything from plastic china sets to coloring books. Mickey went on to become a global phenomenon, launching a bevy of toys (and films) through the 1940s and into the 50s and 60s. The Ferris Wheel offered in this lot is one of those now highly sought-after pieces! The tin metal is strong and colorful with only minor scratches. The windup key and spring work well, and the wheel goes around as it should. The six baskets are complete and swivel correctly. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a vintage Disney toy that is still in working order and includes the original box. In Very Good condition, with mechanism sold as-is. Oh Boy!
