Description
CatDog CatDog and Ignatius "Lube" Catfield-McDog Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background (Nickelodeon, 1998). "Think nothin' of it, Cat! I am your loyal servant." The brainless oaf Lube owes CatDog a life debt after Cat saves him from a tick in the third episode (seventh short) of the first season of CatDog. Seen at approximately the 14:36 mark of the episode, here is the original hand-painted Key Master setup featuring the over-diligent bodyguard and a less-than-grateful Cat and Dog. CatDog was created by Peter Hannan who also composed and performed the theme song, and it was a dark comedy reminiscent of the notorious Ren and Stimpy that ran for over seven years. The background is gorgeously rendered in gouache and watercolor on background board, and the piece measures an overall 13.5" x 10.25". It shows minor handling and edge wear with a small tear in the lower right corner of the background and another on the bottom edge of one of the cels. The cels are taped to the background, and the condition is Very Good.Auction Info
