Description

Walt Disney Classics Collection - "I Have Always Loved Trains" Disneyland Railroad Engine #1 and Mickey Mouse Sculpture #529/1000 (Walt Disney, 2001). Sold out for over 20 years! Here's a highly prized limited edition sculpture of Walt Disney's world-famous railroad Engine #1. The original was created by artist Chris Peterson to commemorate Walt Disney's 100th birthday. The edition was a theme park exclusive and consisted of 1,000 pieces. This one is numbered 529. Engine #1 was named C. K. Holliday after the first president of the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway. The engine was modeled after the classic wood-burning Central Pacific No. 173 locomotive from the late 1800s. Walt's original Lilly Belle miniature steam train was also modeled after the classic No. 173. The sculpture measures about 13" x 7" and contains a backstamp commemorating Walt Disney's 100th birthday, along with the first use of a "Walt Disney Parks and Resorts" logo backstamp. This is a very special edition and a real find! The piece is in Very Good condition. COA included.
From the Rummell Collection.
