Description

Peter Pan Captain Hook Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1953). "And just what do you think you are doing Mr. Smee?" asks the Captain as Smee rows away with Tiger Lily at the 41:11 mark. One of "Walt's Nine Old Men", Frank Thomas animated Captain Hook, who was voiced by the great Hans Conried. This is an original hand-inked, hand-painted production cel of Captain Hook in full-figure measuring 8.5" tall on a 16 field cel. He is in complete costume with hat, sword and most importantly, hook. It's as good a production cel of this popular Disney villain as you are likely to find. Walt Disney liked the character and assumed audiences would too, so he stipulated that Hook was not to die in his adaptation of the J. M. Barrie's play. The nearly 70-year-old cel shows minor handling a tear in the cel and tape residue along the bottom pegholes nowhere near the art. There is also a small paint chip in the heel of Hook's left foot. Condition is Very Good.
