Description

Hare Ribbin' Bugs Bunny as Mermaid Animation Drawing (Warner Brothers, 1944). "Mama, buy me dat!" Robert Clampett directed this madcap short that takes place mainly underwater. In this rare original 12 field 2-peghole animation drawing, Bugs Bunny fools a red-haired Russian dog (who speaks like radio comedian Bert "How do you doooo?" Gordon, aka "The Mad Russian") by posing as a mermaid. Bugs Bunny's frequent bits of "cross-dressing" in cartoons have been sure-fire laugh-getters for generations, and here he is in his prime! You can find this scene in online viewings at the 3:52 mark. The art is in graphite with nice green, red, and blue pencil highlights. Figure size is about 4", and the drawing is noted as 53 in the lower right corner. Minor handling and edge wear, with slight paper toning. Very Good condition.
