Dragon's Lair Dirk the Daring, Princess Daphne and Dragon Production Cel Setup with Key Master Background and Animation Drawing Video Game Art (Don Bluth, 1983). "Please save me! The cage is locked with a key. The dragon keeps it around his neck. To slay the dragon, use the magic sword!" Princess Daphne makes it sound easy in the final confrontation with the dragon in the groundbreaking 1983 arcade hit Dragon's Lair. In the single most elaborate Dragon's Lair cel setup we have ever seen, presented are SIX hand-painted original production cels featuring our hero Dirk the Daring, damsel-in-distress Princess Daphne, and the titular dragon himself. If that wasn't enough, Daphne and the dragon are presented over their gorgeously hand-painted Key Master production background, and Dirk's cel is included in addition. This is a massive piece created on 16 field cels, and the background is rendered in gouache on 16 field background board. As an additional bonus, Dirk's matching animation drawing is included, rendered in graphite and color pencil on 16 field animation paper. He measures 2.25" tall in the drawing. The setup shows minor handling and edge wear with slight tearing on some edges. The drawing shows minor handling and edge wear with mild smudging/debris along the edges and evidence of a staple in the upper right corner. Dirk's cel contains a staple in the upper left corner.
