Mac Raboy Flash Gordon Sunday Comic Strip Original Art, dated 11-4-51 (King Features Syndicate, 1951). Many enthusiasts consider Raboy to be the finest Flash Gordon artist since originator Alex Raymond. This splendid composition represents Raboy's third year on the feature. The story involves a haughty Martian queen who imprisons Flash Gordon and Dale Arden while feigning hospitality. Ink over graphite on conjoined panels of Bristol board. Image area, 20.5" x 14.5". Overall paper aging, a torn and glue-stained title logotype, a missing patch of lettering (Panel 2), and conspicuous seams between panels. Overall in Good condition.
