Bill Ward - Single Panel Gag Cartoon Illustration Original Art (Humorama, c. 1960-70s). "Your set is in fine shape." This cartoon featuring a classic curvy "Bill Ward Girl" warranted many humorous punchlines, with the joke on the front -- "Your tube was shot, so we fresmitted the sazmitter and replaced the transfarber. Let's see, that's $95.00 please." rejected, and two on the back, including the crossed out "Here's your new set, Miss if anything goes wrong, just call us -- no charge if we can make the repairs at your apartment." This just goes to show, some jokes work better than others. Rendered in ink, Conte, and white paint over graphite on paper affixed to Bristol board with an image size of 13" x 17.75". Toned, tape residue around the margins and image edges, loose tape on the top edge, another piece of board taped on the back top edge, with minor corner and handling wear. Joke text in blue ink in the bottom margin crossed out, with other jokes written on the back. Signed by Ward in the bottom image area, and in Very Good condition.
