Description
Greg Hildebrandt Red Sonja Special Edition #1 Cover Original Art, CGC-Certified Comics, and Trading Cards Group (Dynamite Entertainment, 2020). Richly textured and bursting with energy, this painterly image of Red Sonja -- armed with her broadsword and axe -- depicts the She-Devil with a Sword ready to face off against the villainous Kulan Gath. Beyond the powerful portrait of Sonja, Mother Nature unleashes her fury with a violent lightning storm and an erupting volcano, while Pteranodons soar across a sky filled with stars and swirling clouds. An epic fantasy scene rendered as an homage to the Hildebrandt Brothers' iconic Star Wars poster, this artwork was painted in acrylic on canvas board for a Kickstarter-exclusive reprint of the classic stories originally published by Marvel Comics in Marvel Feature #1 and Red Sonja #1. The image area measures 21.5" x 27.5", beautifully framed to an overall size of 25" x 31". Also included in the lot are CGC Signature Series copies of all four Red Sonja Special Edition #1 variant covers featuring this striking Sonja artwork: the Hildebrandt "Classic" Edition and Hildebrandt "Virgin" Edition, both graded NM/MT 9.8, as well as the Hildebrandt Variant Cover and Hildebrandt Sketch Cover, each graded NM+ 9.8. Five trading cards showcasing the cover images are included, along with two additional cards featuring Hildebrandt himself -- seven uncertified cards and four certified comics in total.
