Sergio Davila Journey Into Mystery #83 Variant Cover Original Art (Marvel/VeVe, 2022). In 1962, Thor Odinson, thunder god of Asgard and mightiest warrior of the Ten Realms, took the world by storm. From his first appearance as a reforming petulant godling to his many trials as an Avenger, Thor has endured decades as a mainstay of Marvel's heroes, teaching us time and again what it means to be human. This piece was created for the VeVe NFT platform's digital re-release of the landmark issue, becoming two separate variants (one in black-and-white and another in color) upon release. Graphite and blue pencil on Marvel Bristol board with a near edge-to-edge image area of 11" x 15.5". There is a sketch of Thor's hand on the reverse, which matches his hand position on the piece, presumably a prelim for the backward hand position that holds his hammer.
