Description

Wonderful World of Color Mickey Mouse 40th Anniversary Production Cel (Walt Disney, 1968). "Squeak!" "Are you the first Mickey Mouse?" This 1968 questioning of the 1928 Mickey Mouse was first seen on Mickey's 40th Birthday TV special on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color, shown on 12/22/68 Here is an extremely rare 16 field hand-painted production cel of the two Mickeys from that scene. This footage was later used on the beginning of the Limited Gold Edition Disney VHS tapes in the 1990s, for later generations to see. The 1928 Mickey squawking made this scene, to showcase what happened to him 40 years later. Les Clark did the animation on the two Mickeys. Great full-figure images of 5" and 7", perfect for Mickey's 90th birthday year! Technically the Mickey on the left is a black and white production cel! Matted, with an opening of 14" x 10"; overall mat size is 20" x 16". Minor handling, small separation on left eye, otherwise Very Good condition. From the Joe Hale Archives.
