Venom: Lethal Protector #1 Black Cover Variant (Marvel, 1993) CGC NM+ 9.6 White pages. Venom's first solo title. This issue was supposed to have a red foil cover background, but a few copies were mistakenly printed with a black background! Since counterfeits of this variant do exist, a CGC-graded copy is important, as it verifies the authenticity. Spider-Man makes an obligatory appearance. Mark Bagley cover and art. Currently the #2 book on Overstreet's list of Top 20 Modern Age Comics. Overstreet 2022 NM- 9.2 value = $2,500. CGC census 9/22: 47 in 9.6, 77 higher.CGC Grader Notes:
