Paul Smith and Bob Wiacek The Uncanny X-Men #165 Storm / Brood Story Page 9 Original Art (Marvel, 1982). This was Paul Smith's first X-Men issue, and he would handle almost every issue until #175. The page is a throw-back to the shocking cover of this issue! Storm has been impregnated with a Brood egg and is beginning to transform into a young Brood Queen. This issue's story was appropriately enough titled "Transformations!", and the overall story arc would see many changes to the characters, most notably to Carol Danvers. This heartbreaking page was created with finished inks by Bob Wiacek over Paul Smith's loose blue pencil on Marvel Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". All text is hand-lettered paste-up.
