Description

Don Martin MAD #208 Complete 2-Page Story "A MAD Look at Superman" Original Art (EC, 1979). A day in the life of Superman... with a MAD twist! Ever wondered what it's like to be the Man of Steel -- but with a side of absolute absurdity? Look no further! Don "Duck" Edwing and Don Martin bring you two pages of Super-silliness, straight from the "Schnook... Up In The Sky!" department. (The second page can be seen in our online listing.) Get ready for Martin's unmistakable, rubber-limbed renditions of Jimmy Olsen, Perry White, Batman, Wonder Woman, and even the Hulk! Yes, even the Hulk crashes this party. This issue hit shelves hot on the heels of the blockbuster Superman movie (1978), proving that even when Superman is soaring high, MAD is always there to bring him crashing down -- laughing all the way! Rendered in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol boards with approximate image areas of 17.25" x 18.75" and 16" x 18.75", matted and Plexiglas-front framed to an overall 21.5" x 24.5" and 22.75" x 24.5", respectively. Abrasions in Panel 5 of Story Page 2 , stat text paste-ups, glue residue staining, and pinholes. Signed by Martin in the final panel of Story Page 2. Presents in Very Good condition.
