Description

Marie Severin and Frank Giacoia Daredevil #63 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1970). The Gladiator "goes wild" on this cover to "The Girl -- or the Gladiator?" Melvin Potter (aka The Gladiator) would be a fan-favorite recurring B-grade villain for Daredevil, and would in fact even turn up in the Daredevil Netflix series. This cover was created in ink over graphite and blue pencil on World Color Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The corner box, logo, and header dressing are all stat paste-ups. The Gladiator figure has been trimmed from the original board, and repositioned for cover layout, and all pieces affixed to another backing board for support. All cover text are hand-lettered paste-ups. There is glue residue near the various paste-ups. The bottom word balloon has tape holding it on. The cover art has been mounted on a 16" x 22" mat backing board. In Very Good condition. Comes with a copy of the comic.
