Marvel Mystery Comics #4 (Timely, 1940) CGC FR/GD 1.5 Off-white to white pages. We usually only encounter restored copies of this early wartime stunner. Alex Schomburg's bondage cover for this issue also marked the first cover to feature the Sub-Mariner, the first appearance of a Nazi flag on a comic cover, and the second appearance of a German swastika on the cover of a comic book. Electro, the Marvel of the Age, makes his debut here. The issue's story art is by Carl Burgos, Paul Gustavson, and Bill Everett. It is currently tied for #44 on Overstreet's list of Top 100 Golden Age Comics. Overstreet 2023 GD 2.0 value = $3,700. CGC census 12/23: 3 in 1.5, 26 higher.
