Description
Carl Barks - Mickey Mouse Illustration Original Art and Mickey Mouse In Color Signed Limited Edition Book #11/100 (Another Rainbow, 1988). An adorable, detailed full-body sketch of Mickey Mouse with top hat and cane, doing a little "Fred Astaire" dance. Modeled after drawings done while Barks was an animation in-betweener at Disney Studios for the 1935 Mickey cartoon "Thru the Mirror," this piece was produced in 1988 as a series of 100 drawings to accompany the Gold Plate editions of the book Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse in Color. The drawing graphite and color pencil drawing is signed on the 7" x 6" paper. It has an approximate image size of 5" x 3.5" with an overall framed size of 11.5" x 11.5". The Gold Plate edition of this is included. It reprints choice Mickey Mouse comic strips by Floyd Gottfredson, plus Carl Barks' only MM comic book story ("Riddle of the Red Hat" from Four Color #79). The huge 17" x 12.75" hardcover coffee table book was limited to only 100 copies, and comes with an inserted sheet of parchment-style paper signed by both Gottfredson and Barks. The book shows only slight handling wear on the outside cover corners, and the Barks drawing is in Excellent condition (these drawings are often offered on their own; so it's hard to find a Gold Plate book that still has the art included).
