A major piece of Deadpool's backstory falls into place here, as his connection to the Weapon X program is revealed for the very first time! Echoing the explosive action on the front cover of the issue that features his second-ever appearance, the Merc with a Mouth takes a major blow from Garrison Kane -- who makes his debut in this very story! That doesn't stop Deadpool's trash-talking, of course. As he strikes back, he snarls: "I hated the Weapon X program. And I hated you, you dirty-nosed, pre-pubescent punk!" -- a pointed jab that reveals both characters' shared history in the program. Kane has even adopted the "Weapon X" moniker himself, just like a certain adamantium-clawed mutant (and three guesses as to what metal Kane's arms are made from here).Rendered with all the frenzied fervor that has become a hallmark of Deadpool and X-Force creator Rob Liefeld's work, the art is executed in ink over graphite on a Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.5". Taped page number paste-up, whiteout, and corner/edge wear. In Excellent condition.
