Description

Lady and the Tramp Animation Drawing Featuring Tramp (Walt Disney, 1955) "A rat!" "Where?" "Upstairs, in the baby's room." "How do I get in?" Tramp runs in to save the day in this intense rough animation drawing from the classic 1955 Disney romance. Tramp was animated by a few of Walt Disney's "Nine Old Men", with supervision from Woolie Reitherman and including Frank Thomas, and Milt Kahl. This image can be seen in the film near 1:05:47 timestamp, as Tramp dashes to save Jim Dear and Darling's baby from a rat. Tramp's upcoming rat battle was largely animated by one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" Woolie Reitherman, who excelled at animating fights, confrontations, and chase scenes. Rendered in gestural strokes of graphite and colored pencils, Tramp measures at approximately 6.25" x 5" on a 12 field animation sheet. Featured on the page is a dialogue note "How," timing chart, and sequence note 5 on both right edges. On the back of the page, this lot also features a possible preliminary graphite sketch of the entrance Lady leads Tramp to, with a composition size of 8.5" x 5.25". The drawing has light age-related toning, mild edge and handling wear, a few stray marks from production sketching, light curling to the page, a few light wrinkles that cross over Tramps image, and three peg hole supports. With four pinholes above Tramp and two pinholes below, each about an inch or more away from the image. Overall, this drawing is in Good to Very Good condition.
