Description
Chris Ware - Quimby's Queer Store Logo Illustration Original Art (c. 1997). Ware supplied the logo for legendary alternative bookstore Quimby's Queer Store. The central art piece, featuring the conjoined twin mice, is still used by the surviving version of the store, Quimby's Bookstore. The value of a quality brand image is hard to over-emphasize, so getting a piece designed by such a talent as Ware is astounding. He is well-known for his fantastic design sense, as evident in his Acme Novelty Library series. These three images are created in ink over blue pencil on a single piece of bright white 18.5" x 26" Bristol board. The central mouse image features a ring of flowers and leaves. Ware drew one of these in original art just below and to the right of the mice, then he made stats of the image for the rest of the ring and pasted them on the board. In Excellent condition.
