Description

Marvel Mystery Comics #4 (Timely, 1940) CGC FR 1.0 Brittle pages. This bondage cover by Alex Schomburg was the first to feature the Sub-Mariner, and bears the dubious distinction of being the first to depict a Nazi flag. Inside, it features the first appearance of Electro the Marvel of the Age and story art by Carl Burgos, Paul Gustavson, and Bill Everett. It is currently listed as one of Overstreet's 100 Golden Age Comics. CGC notes, "Cover re-attached with tape. Tape on interior." Overstreet 2024 GD 2.0 value = $4,050. CGC census 9/24: 2 in 1.0, 30 higher.
