House of Secrets #92 (DC, 1971) CGC NM+ 9.6 Off-white to white pages. One of the most influential comics produced during the 1970s, featuring the strange origin and haunting first appearance of the Swamp Thing, arguably the most recognizable in a long line of tragic comic book muck-monsters. The character has had staying power as a cult favorite since the start, spawning seven comic book series, two TV series, and two live-action feature films, with a third currently in development. Bernie Wrightson provided the iconic grey tone cover, using none other than Louise Simonson and Michael Kaluta as models. The story art is by Wrightson, Bill Draught, Alex Weiss, and Dick Dillin, with inks by Tony DeZuniga on one story. It is currently listed on Overstreet's Top 25 Bronze Age Comic Books. Overstreet 2024 NM- 9.2 value = $6,800. CGC census 10/25: 32 in 9.6, 3 higher.
