More Fun Comics #20 (DC, 1937) CGC FN- 5.5 Off-white pages. This newly certified, original-owner copy has soared to the top of CGC's census, surpassing even the copy from the Christine Farrell Complete DC Collection recently sold at Heritage. Remarkably, until October 2024, we had never auctioned a single copy of this issue in our history, and we think it undoubtedly deserves a place in the discussion of the rarest pre-hero DC comics. The Photo-Journal Guide to Comic Books rates this issue a "7" ("scarce") on its Scarcity Index. The issue is notable for a Doctor Occult story by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman's creators, though this was published more than a year before Superman first appeared. Vincent Sullivan cover art. Story art by Sullivan and Creig Flessel. Overstreet 2024 FN 6.0 value = $1,239. CGC census 1/25: 1 in 5.5, none higher.
