Description

Robert Crumb Bijou Funnies #4: "Projunior" Complete 5-Page Story Original Art (Bijou Publishing Empire, 1970). Projunior, a character created by Don Dohler for the early fanzine market, infiltrated the Underground Comix movement as an inspiration to Crumb, among other such pioneering figures. In this immense collected presentation, Crumb re-imagines Projunior as a revolutionary guerrilla warrior who loses his sweetheart, Honeybunch, to "some Establishment pig." But Honeybunch has her own ways of dealing with predatory creeps. Prime Crumb, from a prime period for the idiom as a class. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 8.5" x 11", all framed together in sequence in one immense hanging piece, 38.75" x 31.5". Light toning on individual sheets. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
