Wendy Pini ElfQuest #1 Trade Paperback Cover Painting Original Art (Donning/Starblaze, 1981). Easily one of the most iconic ElfQuest covers... ever! Wendy and Richard Pini's ElfQuest has legions of fans, and most of those fans have this TPB. The colors, the characters, and the animals all come together on this gorgeous cover art featuring the Wolfriders and Leetah. Created in mixed media on illustration board, the original rich and vibrant colors have faded considerably over the years. The reds especially - and to a lesser extent the yellows - are the colors most affected, especially on the right side and most pronounced in Leetah's dress and hair. The art is nevertheless lovely and, of course, one-of-a-kind, and is signed and dated in the lower right of the 12.5" x 16" image area. There is a 12" crease running diagonally from top center right, across Leetah's cheek, and to the image edge. The white image margin is lightly toned. A dynamic piece, even with the faded colors!
