Showcase #4 The Flash (DC, 1956) CGC VG+ 4.5 Cream to off-white pages. The origin and first appearance of the Silver Age Flash (Barry Allen) is considered by most to be the first Silver Age comic. This issue gave DC a huge boost and a five-year head start on Marvel in re-popularizing the superhero genre. Appropriately, for many years this was the most valuable Silver Age issue, and still is the most valuable DC Silver Age issue, listed at #4 on Overstreet's list of Top 50 Silver Age Comics. Cover and art are by Carmine Infantino and Joe Kubert. Overstreet 2020 VG 4.0 value = $14,350. CGC census 9/20: 42 in 4.5, 107 higher.
