Description

Jack Kirby and Bill Everett Thor #172 Story Page 19 Original Art (Marvel, 1969). This Thor story page combines the immense talents of two of Marvel's most storied illustrators, Jack "King" Kirby and Bill Everett, and features Kronin Krask's plot to cheat death going horribly wrong. The eccentric billionaire intended to have Dr. Donald Blake's associates, Jane Foster and Jim North, transfer his mind into Thor's body but drops dead instead. Although the page has a seemingly simple four-panel layout, its energetic composition is pure Kirby magic, effectively conveying the emotion and drama of the story. Ink over graphite and blue pencil on a toned Bristol board with a 10" x 15" image area. Extensive whiteout corrections in the first panel and a residue stain in the third panel. Minor spot stains in the margins and handling wear. In Excellent condition.
