Description

George Herriman Krazy Kat Sunday Comic Strip Original Art dated 1-15-28 (King Features Syndicate, 1928). It may have been January 15th, but this Sunday gave readers a bit of "T'was the Night Before X-Mas" and even featured a cameo by the fat man in red himself! In addition, the art is addled with alliteration and affectation in the articulation. It is as much a joy to read aloud as view. Rendered in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 16.5" x 18.25". There are minor stains in Panels 3 and 8, and very minor surface soiling. Signed in the last panel. Glass-front framed to 23.5" x 26.25". In Very Good condition, with remarkable paper brightness for something that is just shy of 100 years old!
