Description
Rocko's Modern Life Spunky Production Cel Setup with "Sand in Your Navel" Master Background (Nickelodeon, c. 1993/1990's). Rocko's lovable pup, Spunky, tiptoes to sneak a peek at the fish market stand in this endearing hand-painted production cel setup from the original Nicktoon Rocko's Modern Life paired with a "Sand in Your Navel" Master background. Crafted for an undetermined episode, Spunky is a rendered a great image area of approximately 4" x 4" on the 12 field cel. With the market stand paired Master background, rendered in gouache paint and ink nearly edge-to-edge on 12 field watercolor paper. This layout is from "Sand in Your Navel" which aired with Episode 2 on September 26, 1993, and can be seen in the final cut near the 22:03 timestamp. Funny enough, this stand was selling a poor Spunky, in this specific layout. Over the course of the episode Spunky got scooped up by a pelican and sold to the fish stand's vendor. Both production pieces of the cel setup feature production codes which can be found along the peg hole edges. With light production handling and edge wear, minor surface debris, and a bit of paint remnants on the bottom edge of the cel. Overall, this lot is in Very Good condition.Auction Info
