Description

Rocko's Modern Life "Trash-O-Madness" PILOT EPISODE Yellow Rocko Production Cel Setups with "Spitballs" Master Background Group of 3 (Nickelodeon, 1992/93). "Ok, steak! How about a steak instead?" Rocko is going berserk on the foolish yard dog that's preventing him from delivering his garbage to the garbage truck in this group of original hand-painted cels. This is a trio of rare and historical animations cels and master background that capture the original essence that the creator, Joe Murray, was intending for Rocko in the pilot episode. Rocko's color complication rose out of the toy line that Nickelodeon agreed to but changed the agreement due to them already having a "yellow character" around that time. This caused the animators to reanimate several scenes with a peach-colored Rocko for continuity. Ultimately, the deal was scrapped anyway which highlighted the disappointment from Joe Murray who already thought that Rocko was yellow. A similar image can be seen at 19:32 mark of the pilot episode but they aren't exact due to the "yellow" controversary that was happening at the time. The combined image size of Rocko and the dog measures 8.5" x 9.25" with both presented over the master gouache background is from the opening segment of "Spitballs". The overall condition is Very Good with cels having adhered to each other and the animation paper, minor handling wear and edge wear, with light pinhole of paint.
