Military Comics #1 (Quality, 1941) CGC VF+ 8.5 Off-white to white pages. The first issue of Military Comics showcases the origin and first appearance of Blackhawk, who would soon earn his own eponymous solo title. Miss America and Death Patrol began runs in the title here, and Will Eisner added a story and the wonderful cover art. An amazing group of artists -- Jack Cole, Fred Guardineer, Henry Kiefer, Klaus Nordling, and Bob Powell -- also contributed interior art. As of this writing, a mere two copies of issue #1 have earned a higher grade from CGC. Overstreet 2022 VF 8.0 value = $3,628; VF/NM 9.0 value = $6,414. CGC census 3/23: 2 in 8.5, 3 higher.
