Description
Paul Smith and Bob Wiacek X-Men / Alpha Flight #2 Wraparound Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1986). "The Lord of Lies is going to save the world -- if he has to kill the X-Men and Alpha Flight to do it!" Loki holds Madelyne Pryor-Summers (as Anodyne) surrounded by the fallen mutants as the Frost Giants lend a hand with Talisman, Northstar, and Aurora on this great wraparound cover from the crossover of Marvel's two popular mutant teams and an integral part of the X-Men's "Asgardian Wars". Ink over graphite and blue pencil on two Bristol boards mounted to illustration board with a combined image area of 20" x 15". The artwork has an acetate overlay with the stat logo/header, text, and stat art paste-ups. The figures of Loki and Madelyne have been enlarged from the original artwork which is covered by the stat art overlay. Slight toning, residue staining from tape in the margins and the previously adhered stat paste-ups, tape/notes in the bottom margin, denting/layer separation on the board in the corners and around the edges, whiteout touch-ups, and handling wear.
