Description

Jack Kirby and Joe Sinnott Fantastic Four #83 Splash Page 1 Original Art (Marvel, 1969). "Shall Man Survive?" One of the most iconic FF title splashes ever created by The King! Kirby Krackles run rampant as Johnny Storm attempts to use his flaming abilities as the Human Torch to break out of the prison that he, Mr. Fantastic, and the Thing are in thanks to the mad Maximus, the power-hungry brother of the king of the Inhumans, Black Bolt. Kirby was at his artistic heights, producing eye-popping visuals and large/dynamic, action-packed panels which had Marvelites in awe at every turn of the page! This is a rare chance to secure one of the most recognizable pages from the end of Marvel's Silver Age. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15.25". Toning, credits/text and stat indicia paste-ups, punched holes in the top/bottom margins with a missing top left corner, blue pencil editorial marks and whiteout corrections, with light staining and handling wear. In Very Good condition.
