Description

Superman #1 (DC, 1939) CGC Apparent FN 6.0 Extensive (P) White pages. This major key, one of the five most valuable issues in the hobby, is almost impossible to find in unrestored form and basically unaffordable when you do -- the best unrestored copy we've come across was a VG/FN that sold for $83,000. A more realistic goal is a restored copy with strong eye appeal, and this copy certainly fills that bill. All the buzz lately has been about Detective #27 and Action #1, but those are the only two comics more desirable than Superman #1, so we think this book will get buzz of its own soon. This key issue marks the first time a character created for the comics got his own series. Joe Shuster cover art. CGC notes, "Restoration includes: color touch, pieces added, tear seals, cover cleaned, interior lightened, reinforced, re-glossed." Overstreet 2009 GD 2.0 value = $25,000; VG 4.0 value = $50,000; FN 6.0 value = $75,000.
